THE FABLE TABLE

Updated: Oct 31, 2022

Sitting most of my life at the fable table,

always an obstacle, always a stumbling block.

I never paid attention to the warning label,

I never paid attention to the clock.

Trying to turn back time, but unable,

the good times seemed to be out of stock,

coming close to being fatal,

coming to a halt, sudden gridlock

Life seemed very unstable,

I didn't walk the walk,

I reached the end of the cable,

And I didn't talk the talk.

My behavior became uninterpretable,

and my purpose became a crock,

life on the gray side, somewhat Sable,

nails on the blackboard, not chalk.

The iceberg hit the main hull,

wishing I was still at the dock,

I was severely disabled,

like a key broken in the lock.

Like when Cain betrayed Abel,

I was looking for something to hock,

my actions becoming damnable,

a persona of a warlock.

My house was missing a gable,

needless to say not built on the rock,

but then Jesus said, come to my table,

He answered the door with just one knock.

He said He remembered me from the cradle

I was speechless, I was in shock,

He said His house was stable,

it was built on the rock.

I said I was willing and able,

He said you've always been a part of my flock,

an empty seat now at the fable table,

He helped guide me through the obstacles and picked me up at the stumbling block.

We all want to live a fairy tale life, but a fairy tale is a fable. It's so, so hard to face the truth sometimes, but there will come a day when only the truth will be accepted. What table are you sitting at? Jesus already made a reservation for you at the most exclusive table in the world. The cost, well, it's on the house, so pull up a chair and have a seat in the kingdom of God.

LUKE 14:15 ESV

When one of those who reclined at the table with him heard these things, he said to him, " Blessed is everyone who will eat bread in the kingdom of God

SONG OF SOLOMON 2:4 ESV

He brought me to the banqueting house, and his banner over me was love

1 PETER 5:6-7 ESV

6.Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you. 7. Casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.

MATTHEW 7:7 ESV

Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find, knock, and it will be opened to you.
